Hi, I’m Erin.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), but I am also a regular person, just like you. I am happily married and have five kids. After work I become the family uber driver and chef and then try to grab a few minutes to recharge. My children are both my biggest and most difficult blessing. On the weekends, I am happiest if I get to be outside at a lake or in the mountains. Sunshine is my one true love and I try to get as much as I can.
Philosophy
I believe that life is hard, but it’s also good. I believe that people try their best, but we are better when we help each other. My approach to therapy is eclectic, meaning I use a variety of different modalities to serve my client’s needs. I am careful to take time when I first begin working with someone to learn their preferences, needs, and strengths before I begin offering ideas, education, or solutions. I try to honor the fact that my clients know themselves better than I do, but also recognize that sometimes we have blind spots. I am kind and compassionate, but I am also honest and straightforward.
Background and Training
I earned my master’s degree in social work from Utah State University and am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). I use an integrated, strengths based approach to therapy offering positive and practical strategies derived from evidence based treatment models including Motivational Interviewing, ACT,, CBT, DBT, EFT, EMDR, SFT, and Narrative Therapy. I also spend a lot of time learning from experts about the brain and body so I can educate my clients on what is happening inside of them. I often draw upon my personal experiences to help illustrate what these strategies look like in real life so my clients really understand what it looks like to implement and draw strength from them.
Experience
I have experience treating anxiety and OCD, depression, mood disorders, personality disorders, grief/loss, emotional dysregulation, trauma, and more. I work with all populations, but especially enjoy working with women. I also have personal experience coping with medical trauma and individuals with Level I Autism.
